Free Government Tablet (the "Website") is an independent informational resource and service provider. We are not a federal or state government agency, nor are we directly affiliated with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). We provide assistance by helping eligible consumers understand and apply for federal assistance programs such as Lifeline.
All eligibility determinations, approvals, and enrollment decisions are managed exclusively by the National Verifier (administered by USAC) and the individual participating wireless carriers. The Website does not guarantee approval into the Lifeline program, nor do we guarantee the receipt of a specific device.
Any mentions of specific devices (such as iPhones, iPads, Samsung Galaxy models, or specific Android tablets) are for illustrative purposes based on observed provider promotions. Device availability is strictly dependent on the individual provider's current inventory at the time of your application. Providers reserve the right to substitute devices with models of equal or greater value without notice.
Under FCC regulations, the term "Free Government Tablet" refers to the significant federal subsidy applied to the device. However, providers are legally mandated to collect a minimum copayment of $10.01 (up to $50) for any internet-connected device distributed through these programs. Therefore, while the monthly cellular service is generally free, the physical tablet or laptop will require a small one-time payment.
